flower of life

(March 13, 2015)  As many of you know, I am co-writing a book about math education with Rachel.  The working title of the book is How (NOT) to Ruin Math.  It will be published by Delta Stream Media, the publishing arm of Natural Math LLC.  We have some chapters ready to be read by others, and were wondering whether you’d like to give us your feedback.

These chapters are early-stage, first-draft writing.  So this task is content editing, not proofreading (i.e. grammar, spelling, etc. – that will be professionally done at a later date).  We need your ideas now on the content.  We have four chapters ready right now, and invite you to comment on one or more of them.

If this doesn’t interest you, stop reading now.  If it does, continue for details:

>One of the articles would probably take 3-5 minutes to read, and the other three would take 5-10 minutes… then a few extra minutes to comment.

>We would need feedback within 7 days of sending it to you.

>We are looking for constructive feedback. We think and hope that the chapters are good, but want suggestions to make them even better.  And, of course, we want to be told which parts are not so good. This step is to elevate our chapters to the next level.

>This work does not pay money. Instead, we will thank you in the credits, and also give you an opportunity to hopefully make a difference in math education.

If you’re interested, please reply with the answers to these questions:>Which pieces, if any, would you like to read?

>What type of file do you prefer?

>How do you want to give feedback (in writing, over the phone, or in person)?

>Can you be done with it within 7 days?

>If you’re interested, but too busy at this time, let us know, as more articles will be ready for readers over the next month or so.

Thank you!  We look forward to hearing from you and sharing with you.
