We will do the group theory activity “A Fox and a Sock” to build up algebraic intuition of concepts such
as simplification, isomorphism, inverses, and commutativity. We’ll use characters from the functions
book “Funville Adventures” to build intuition about the math behind functions (domain, range,
commutativity, inversion, etc.). We will also use objects to model the concepts of positive slope and the
order of operations.

Based on activities from the Eugene Math Circle and from Math Author/Teachers Sasha Fradkin and
Havva Malone.
